7/21-7/28 Honeymoon Part One: Mexico

Life is tough!

Life is tough!

After a lovely night at the Westin in Bellevue, Amy and I returned to the wedding site for a brunch and to open gifts with a small group of family and friends. It was great to see everyone for a bit more quality time and re-live the exciting night before.

We were up late packing and then catching a 4:00am shuttle to the airport on Monday! Not a lot of sleep to be sure, but we were too excited to notice. Travel was very smooth and we landed in Cabo, grabbed our rental car, and hit the road in great time. While checking in to the time share a guy snuck in front of us to complain about the room he was given claiming he reserved an ocean view. He was obviously just causing a stink hoping for an upgrade without success. When we got to the desk, the guy commented how happy we seemed and we explained it was our honeymoon, to which he replied, “Fantastic! I’ve got a beautiful ocean view room for you!” The room and resort completely lived up to the billing…they were unbelievably gorgeous!

Happy Hour!

Happy Hour!

Amy and I hit Costco right after checking in and loaded up on food and beverage. We ate every breakfast and most lunches right in our suite and enjoyed some really nice dinners out as well. We day tripped to San Jose Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, but in the end, decided we would much rather just stay at the resort and get some much needed R&R.

Highlights included:

  • Gorgeous sunsets and sun rises
  • Sunny weather everyday
  • Geckos running about
  • A couples massage at the spa
  • Happy hour pina coladas at 11am
  • The John and Amy happy hour at 4pm (out of our rolling cooler)
  • Reading, swimming, napping, and getting pseudo-tan!

It was hard to leave, but we were craving some American food and it sure helps when your next destination is…DISNEYLAND!!
